About

I’m Nasheed. I live in Brooklyn and work as an engineer on the technical staff at Diode Computers.

I’m passionate about building mission-critical systems, pushing hardware to its limits, and solving open-ended problems where there’s no clear playbook.

I found my way into rocketry in college, where I helped start nyuad.space. Our rocket, Haloship, was designed to come apart, fit in a suitcase, and be put back together at the launch site. It flew in New Mexico in June 2023.

We also worked with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory on a reusable hold-down and release mechanism. Two of those mechanisms flew on Haloship, holding its sections together until it was time to deploy the parachutes.
